Are my system requirements enough to play the sims 3?

Here are the requirements for The Sims 3:

-2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent

-1.5 GB RAM

-At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content

For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least:

-Intel Integrated Chipset, GMA X3000 or above.

-2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent

-0.5 GB additional RAM

My system includes the following:

Manufacturer: Dell

Model: Inspiron 1520

Processor: Intel (R) Celeron (R) CPU 540 @ 1.86GHz

Memory (RAM): 1014 MB

System type: 32-bit operating system

Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium

- Device:

Name: Mobile Intel (R) 965 Express chipset family

Manufacturer: Intel Corporation

Chip type: Mobile Intel (R) 965 Express chipset family

DAC type: internal

Approx. Total memory: 251 MB

DirectX version: DirectX 10

So will my system play The Sims 3?

I'm mainly unsure about the graphics card and the processor, is my processor equivalent to the ones specified in The Sims 3 system requirements?

Thanks :]Are my system requirements enough to play the sims 3?
Go to www.canyourunit.com

It will install something on to your computer (it's safe) and you will choose the game you are wanting to play. It will scan your system and check to see if you meet the minimum requirements to download and play the game. Are my system requirements enough to play the sims 3?
From the looks of it, your processor is below the requirements, you only have 1g of ram, but your video card looks powerful enough. It might be worth trying to get it to run on your computer since it seems just shy of the needed specs. This is especially true since i dont know if you have a duo core processor.
